Dehydration and Your Health

Most people are dehydrated, I mean chronically dehydrated day in and day out. Its amazing to me how these people go on without realizing the side affects of dehydration and there are plenty!

My body personally is so used to me drinking water that I wouldn’t think of doing half the activities most do without my water bottle nearby. I live near a nature trail and I see so many people I see running without any water with them. I also adjust my drinking for particular circumstances (such as exercising or traveling.) Our bodies NEED water.

Look at how water makes up a great portion of our organs:

The brain and heart are 73% water, lungs +/- 83% water, the skin is 64% water, muscles and kidneys are 79% water and your body’s bones are 31% – According to H.H. Mitchell, Journal of Biological Chemistry 158

If you want to read a book that discusses the value of water in your life (beyond the drink 8 glasses method) I highly suggest Water: For Health, For Healing, For Life:Your Not Sick You’re Thirsty

Another great resource is to make Sole (it only requires 2 ingredients) and can aid in hydration and your body’s detoxification – check out a simple DIY recipe from Wellness Mama
